Dean Pelton has developed an obsession with dalmatians over the course of the series. It started in “Environmental Science” (S01E10), in which we see him looking at a YouTube clip of a dalmatian man and later, in “Modern Warfare” (S01E23) and “A Fistful of Paintballs” (S02E23), he wears a dalmatian-styled vest, and a dalmatian stuffed animal can be seen in his office. He also invites people in dalmatian costumes to the “Tranny Dance”, in “Pascal’s Triangle Revisited” (S01E25). During “Contemporary Impressionists” (S03E11), a dalmatian toy can be seen on his desk, as well as portraits of dalmatians on the wall behind him. Dan has said in the DVD commentaries that he decided put that in the show after a friend of his sent him the link for the original video of the guy wearing a dalmatian costume.
